General information, not advice

Strut & Slate publishes general information about turkey hunting gear and first-season technique: calls, decoys, blinds, chokes, red dots, vests, seats, boots and clothing. It is not legal advice, not firearms instruction and not a substitute for a hunter education course. It is not a guarantee that any product will perform as its maker describes, that a choke will pattern a given load in your gun, or that a manufacturer will honor a warranty claim. Specifications and warranty terms are quoted from the maker's page on the date read and can change.

Hunting seasons, bag limits, shooting hours, legal firearms, gauges and shot types, electronic calls, decoys and hunter orange rules are set by each state and change from year to year. Always read your state wildlife agency's current regulations before you hunt. Handle firearms safely, identify your target and what is beyond it before you shoot, follow the choke and ammunition makers' instructions, and pattern your own gun before trusting any published range.

Accuracy and changes

We work hard to keep ratings, specifications and model numbers accurate, and every figure links to its source. Manufacturers update models, warranty terms and specs often, though, and we can make mistakes. Check the retailer or maker before you buy. If you spot an error, tell us and we'll correct it.

Prices, availability and purchases

Prices and availability are set by the retailer and change often, which is why we don't print them. When you click a buy button you leave our site; any purchase is between you and that retailer, under its terms, shipping and return policies. We don't sell products and can't help with orders.
